  • EDC Breakfast "Connecting Warren County" A Sold-Out Success
    3/22/2017 | Approximately 140 attendees filled the ballroom of the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls today to hear three presenters give their perspectives on economic development and the connection Warren County has to the Capital Region. Town of Bolton Supervisor and Warren County Board of Supervisors Chair Ron Conover described how public-private collaboration and NYS assistance enabled three key projects in his town. Mike Yevoli, Empire State Development's Capital Region Director gave an overview of how Warren County has worked with ESD and the Regional Council to move key projects ahead over the past several years. Last, Andrew Kennedy provided a detailed summary of the Center for Economic Growth's purpose and mission as a regional economic entity and the connection it has to Warren County and EDC.

  • Gov. Cuomo announces $20 million for Gore Mtn and Whiteface Mtn upgrades
    1/23/2017 | Governor Cuomo announced $20 million in new funding for upgrades to both Gore and Whiteface Mountains. At Gore, improvements include:
    • Expanding seating capacity and modernizing the Saddle Lodge’s facilities and infrastructure.
    • Adding a third story to the Base Lodge – building corporate meeting room space, additional seating and customer amenities, and expanding the rental shop in the Northwoods Lodge.
    • Restoring the original 1967 gondola unloading station into a Gore summit warming facility and overlook.
    Congratulations to the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) for their continued top notch management of these unique recreational assets and for their tireless advocacy on behalf of Gore. These improvements are expected to enhance and expand economic impact and leverage additional private investment.

    1/18/2017 | EDC Welcomed Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul for a presentation of Governor Cuomo's "Excelsior Ever Upward" featuring overview of the upcoming 2017 NYS Budget. Standing room only crowd listened to her give details of key features of this year's budget including proposals for education, infrastructure, broadband, economic development. Introducing Lt. Gov Hochul was Warren County Board of Supervisors Chair Ron Conover of Bolton, NY. Also speaking was Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond.
  • Lake George Area "Original Vacation" Spots Produced by Warren County Tourism Office
    12/20/2016 | The Warren County Tourism Office produced and released a new Winter 2016-17 version of their "Original Vacation" commercial spots that are being run in major northeast markets. The launch of the campaign began during the summer season which is the Lake George Area's busiest time of year and is looking to promote its four season tourism economy.

    12/21/2016 | EDC Warren County has commented on Tuesday's announcement that Nielsen has entered into an agreement with Tribune Media Company to purchase Gracenote, the industry's premier provider of media and entertainment metadata.
