Names New Leader
Victoria Pratt Gerbino led regional job creation efforts in three states
A leading economic development executive with experience growing regional economies in three states has been selected as the new president of the Economic Development Corporation of Warren County.
Victoria Pratt Gerbino, CEcD, was chosen by the Board of Directors following a four-month nationwide search. Ms. Gerbino, a native New Yorker, previously served as the managing director of business development at the Greater Rochester Enterprise, an economic development agency serving the Rochester-Finger Lakes region.
Most recently, she was the president of the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition, where her efforts helped attract significant manufacturing operations, leading the region to achieve a manufacturing employment rate double the national average.

2011 Annual Luncheon
EDC Warren County will hold its annual luncheon to review economic progress in the region on Friday, May 6, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge in Queensbury. The event is open to members of the public, with advance paid reservations ($45 for EDC members, and $65 for non-members). Register here.
The luncheon’s Keynote Speaker is United States Congressman Chris Gibson, representing the 20th District of New York. Congressman Gibson will speak about critical issues in the region, such as the economy and job creation, energy, agriculture, defense and national security, fiscal responsibility, and healthcare.

EDC now produces a weekly e-update called The EDC Insider, which offers subscribers a quick-glance summary of essential news from the economic developer’s perspective, including the latest on state and federal economic development programs and updates on the projects, communities, and people making news in Warren County and beyond.

Outreach Update
Since the beginning of 2011, EDC has been engaged in regular outreach meetings with major employers, businesses, developers and regional stakeholders. As part of that effort, EDC has visited all of the towns in the County in person to meet with supervisors and plans quarterly follow-up visits to stay in touch with local officials and businesses.
