Empire Zone Update

On May 22, EDC, administrative agent for Warren County’s Empire Zone (EZ) program held a well-attended workshop. The event was sponsored by Anchin, Block & Anchin and Adirondack Community College. More than 30 local accounting, financial, and legal professionals gathered to learn about this key economic development tool. Guest speakers Pat Hamilton, an Economic Development Specialist with over 20 years experience with Empire State Development; Suzanne Reusch, the primary business outreach representative of NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance; and Richard Imprescia, Executive Director of Business Economic Development Services Group with Anchin, Block & Anchin, LLP (Accountants & Consultants) each spoke and took questions on their areas of expertise. This in-depth workshop provided background information about the EZ program, and guidance and insight into the tax side of the program for certified businesses.
