QIP Groundbreaking
QIP Groundbreaking Event The skies cleared September 28, just in time for Dan Burke, Chairman of the EDC Board, to lead a round of applause to celebrate the official groundbreaking at the Queensbury Industrial Park. Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (R, I, C -Willsboro) noted in her remarks that while the QIP is located in Queensbury, it has a far-reaching impact on the regional economy. "Even in my hometown of Willsboro, we look to Queensbury and the surrounding area as an economic center." Other speakers, including Dan Stec and Nick Caimano, looked back on the public and private partnership efforts that culminated in last week's groundbreaking.

The project, which began back in 2001, recently became one of only 26 Certified Shovel Ready sites in New York. The park is the future home of the NY Army National Guard Readiness Center, a project that is expected to cost more than $11 million.
