Recap on Trade Show Participation
A key part of EDC's overall marketing plan for 2007 includes participation in seven major trade shows targeted at specific technology recruitment opportunities for the Warren County/Glens Falls area. We are dovetailing our recruitment efforts with two major regional business attraction initiatives to maximize our presence and increase the likelihood of success. In 2007, EDC has formally joined the following campaigns:

NY Loves Nanotech - Center for Economic Growth Inc. (CEG) This initiative leverages the resources of CEG and its participating partners in order to effectively maximize marketing Warren County sites and facilities to nanotech and supporting industries by using a branded regional approach. NY Loves Nano is designed to capitalize on Tech Valley's major nanotech assets including Albany NanoTech, RPI, Sematech North, GE Global Research and the announced AMD chip fabrication facility to be built at Luther Forest Technology Campus. You can learn more at www.nylovesnano.com.

NY Loves Bio - NYS Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) This consortium of economic development, private bio companies and service providers and academic institutions has developed a brand new campaign specifically targeting the recruitment of biotech and other technology companies that may be seeking to expand into New York as a result of the proximity to existing medical device manufacturing, biomedical, and biopharma R & D assets. You can learn more at www.nylovesbio.com.

EDC is representing all of Warren County's light industrial parks, sites and buildings in its 2007 promotional and sales activities. Information, including a regionally branded site map, collateral, regional data and details on Warren County's two NYS Certified Shovel Ready parks: Queensbury Industrial Park and Tech Meadows at Glens Falls, are being represented at the following list of national & international trade shows. EDC plans to attend a minimum of four of these events in person (with potentially one more to be announced at a later date) and will have representation by the Tech Valley coalition at all of the shows not attended by EDC representatives. To date, EDC has had representatives attend three of these events and will be attending SEMICON Europa in October plus the Materials Research Society event in November.
