EDC in the News: From Semiconductors to Skiing

banner

Two long-term initiatives of EDC – the recruitment of international businesses to Warren County and support for the region’s winter tourism industry – have been in the news recently.

In early October, EDC promoted two local shovel-ready commercial sites, Queensbury Business Park and Tech Meadows in Glens Falls, at an international trade show for the semiconductor and nanoelectronics industries in Dresden, Germany. While EDC staff could not attend the show personally due to budget constraints, EDC’s collaborative work with the Center for Economic Growth in Albany put Warren County in the spotlight at SEMICON Europa, attended by approximately 20,000 people. The Post Star covered the story.

A second news article profiled EDC’s work to bring together Warren County’s three ski areas – Gore Mountain, Hickory Mountain, and West Mountain – to join in a cooperative marketing effort and promote winter tourism in the region.
