Brookfield Renewable moves Control Center; obtains and attracts new employees

Renewable power for a cleaner, brighter tomorrow!

A ribbon cutting was held on September 13, 2022 with more than 50 employees and community members in attendance. Local officials, along with Assemblyman Matt Simpson said kind and powerful words just prior to the ribbon being cut. EDC Warren County President, Jim Siplon, spoke stating that this moment is a bigger deal than some notice. We have to be thoughtful on building a sustainable future, this is it right here! This is an example of how it can work. The next generation of thinking is now.

When EDC heard about Brookfield Power, the owner of 140 hydroelectric dams across the United States, moving their control center to Big Bay Road,  Queensbury, NY, we put them in contact with the Warren-Washington Industrial Development Agency (IDA). The IDA approved an incentive package that includes sales tax exemptions and property tax savings. With the move, they will bring 13 Brookfield employees from Boston, MA to this new site. The location they chose in Queensbury, NY, is perfect for professional relocation with our vast array of outdoor activities, shopping & dining, culture & arts. Whether working from home with excellent broadband services or from a breathtaking refurbished historic office building or a new office space, the opportunities are endless.
