Christy Alexander, owner of WorkSmart Coworking and Meeting Space, was working from home herself and feeling disconnected. She did some research and saw the need for human connection during the workday as a major need in the area, and launched WorkSmart at 3 Warren Street in downtown Glens Falls in 2018. Now, the business is growing and aims to open in spring 2021 in a newly renovated location at 237 Glen Street, right next to Crandall Public Library and Spot Coffee.

“WorkSmart provides a ready-to-be productive workspace with a supportive community to help people do their best work,” says Christy. “In our new location, we will be the anchor tenant in the former First National Bank of Glens Falls building, built in 1914. This location is ideal because of its proximity to banking and other professional services in downtown Glens Falls.”

Christy adds, “The space will be completely renovated including revealing some of the original architectural detail and exposing the large arched windows. Moving the staircase, adding a mezzanine and expanding the current boardroom are all part of the plans. We’re looking forward to being able to share the changes with all the previous staff and customers of the bank.”
