Remembering Ed Bartholomew, updates on The Ed Fund

Today we remember Ed Bartholomew, former President of EDC Warren County and Glens Falls City Mayor, on the two year anniversary of his sudden passing on July 21, 2020.

Ed’s legacy of successes in Glens Falls and Warren County fuels our vision of the Edward M. Bartholomew Jr. Scholarship Fund (The Ed Fund), with the goals of continuing his legacies of selfless public service, passion for the community and enthusiasm for economic development.

The Ed Fund, held by Glens Falls National and overseen by his family and local community members, will invest in the next generation of leadership by boosting paid internships within Warren County for high school and college students. We are committed to creating opportunity for businesses and organizations who may need assistance and to people who don’t have the extent of access to opportunity they deserve.

Applications for The Ed Fund will open to businesses in the City of Glens Falls this fall. Interested businesses can apply to host an intern for 10 hours a week over a 10 week period, paid for by The Ed Fund. Interns can be in high school, college, or trade school.

EDC first announced The Ed Fund in August 2021. In the fall of 2021, we held a disc golf fundraising event at Crandall Park. Those who knew and loved Ed gathered to play disc golf and raise money for his honorary scholarship fund.

Plans are now underway for a second fundraiser this fall. More information regarding The Ed Fund is on our website at edcwc.org.

Thank you, Ed, for your unmatched dedication to our community and lasting inspiration.
