Warren County to show off Lake George to Capital Region job seekers

Are you curious about what it’s like to work in the hospitality and tourism industry in the beautiful Lake George region? Come find out this Saturday!

Warren County Employment & Training Administration is working closely with Tech Valley Shuttle and several organizations in the Albany, Schenectady, and Troy areas to recruit job seekers to Lake George to fill hundreds of job vacancies as the summer tourism season quickly approaches.

The effort will include a special trip on Saturday, May 8th, to show off Lake George employers and their opportunities.

“This is a new partnership brought on by the employment problems worsened by the pandemic, and all parties share mutual goals of addressing transportation gaps and promoting experiential learning and workforce opportunities for the Capital Region community,” said Liza Ochsendorf, Warren County Director of Employment & Training.

Transportation is being provided by Tech Valley Shuttle to bring curious job seekers from the Capital Region who would like to visit Lake George and learn about job openings, meet members of the local community, and hear from employers about all of the perks of working in the area. If there is sufficient interest from job seekers, a regular shuttle from the Capital Region to the Lake George area for workers could be operated.

Guests will visit Six Flags Great Escape, Fort William Henry Resort & Conference Center, and the Lake George Steamboat Company, will learn about all of the jobs that are open in the area, and will be provided with resources and information on how to apply. The trip will include lunch and a steamboat cruise on Lake George as well!

Interested job seekers in Albany, Schenectady and Troy areas can sign up to attend this free trip by contacting Tech Valley Shuttle at Office@techvalleyshuttle.com or by calling 518-203-8748. The time frame of the trip is roughly 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from departure to return.
